We are looking for a results-driven Sales Director to join our growing team and drive the adoption of our curb management solutions. This role is ideal for a hunter, problem-solver, and relationship-focused sales professional who is passionate about urban mobility, sustainability, and technology-driven solutions.

Role Overview

As an Sales Director, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with municipalities and airports. You will work closely with prospective clients to understand their mobility and operational challenges and position Automotus as the go-to solution for curb management automation.

This role requires a multi-pronged approach, connecting with elected officials, department heads, and various stakeholder groups to get buy-in across relevant decision makers in local government. This role also requires strong relationship management skills, creative problem solving, and the ability to navigate complex sales obstacles including policy/legislative landscapes. 

Salary: $125,000-150,000
OTE: $225,000-275,000

RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will:

  • Take ownership of building and managing a sales funnel with a focus on generating new opportunities
  • Generate proposals, negotiate contracts, and close new business
  • Execute the commercial strategy to ensure achievement of Automotus commercial objectives 
  • Partner closely with Client Success to manage key clients (existing and new) to improve retention and profitability 
REQUIREMENTS
We encourage you to apply if you have:
  • 5+ years experience selling to government agencies, municipalities, or large regulated enterprises.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of closing complex deals with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to tailor solutions to client needs.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing commercial strategies that achieve business objectives in regulated industries
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to travel nationally 1-2 times per month for conferences, client meetings, and industry events.

PREFERRED

  • Experience in urban mobility, transportation technology, or smart city solutions.
  • Familiarity with curb management, fleet operations, or parking enforcement.
  • Experience with CRM tools like HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of public-private partnerships and city procurement.
