Were expanding our national footprint and seeking an experienced Sales Executive (Employee Benefits) to lead growth in the Chicago market. This is a dynamic opportunity for a driven professional who thrives on building strong client relationships, leading strategic initiatives, and shaping the success of an emerging market. Youll play a key role in developing business, guiding clients through tailored benefits solutions, and collaborating with a supportive national team committed to professional excellence. Key Roles and Responsibilities 1. Business Development and Relationship Management Develop and cultivate new client relationships within the target market. Build a network of external influencers. Actively prospect for new business opportunities using available sales tools, professional networks, sponsored events, and referrals. Follow up on all leads promptly. Manage and document all sales activities within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Participate in professional and networking events Achieve or exceed annual sales targets and maintain a sales pipeline equivalent to three times the annual goal. 2. Client Advisory and Risk Management Lead risk management strategies for both new and existing client relationships. Provide professional, efficient, and courteous service to clients in collaboration with Client Executives, Client Managers, and Account Managers. Analyze client risks, coverage needs to recommend suitable solutions. Execute policy coverage and program changes as required. Leverage industry expertise to clearly explain risk management strategies to clients. Offer innovative and tailored insurance solutions to address complex risk issues. Educate clients on available insurance products and market trends. 3. Account Coordination and Operational Excellence Collaborate with service teams to review carrier proposals, analyze market summaries, and prepare renewal documentation within required timeframes. Stay informed on carrier offerings, strategic partnerships, emerging products/services, and applicable legislative updates. Support service teams and act as a backup to team members when required. Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and company information. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
What You Bring 6+ years of Employee Benefits sales experience. Proven track record managing mid-to-large group clients (100+ lives). Valid Life & Health License (or ability to obtain).<BR> Established client relationships and a consultative approach. Professional presence, credibility, and commitment to long-term client partnerships. Based in or near Chicago, IL (hybrid role with quarterly HQ travel).
Preferred Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. CEBS designation. Background in insurance brokerage or professional services. Experience mentoring or leading within a sales environment.
