Internship Overview The Sales internship is designed to deliver a best-in-class intern experience focused on increasing the selected intern’s knowledge and experience in Sales and exploring how it impacts the various departments within the dealership.
If selected, you will gain hands on experience with online & inside sales, sales analysis, and inventory management for various products and brands represented by Van Wall Equipment. During your internship you will have the opportunity to apply your skills by assisting internal and external customers with their sales needs. Finally, you will gain a broader understanding of dealership operations by shadowing a variety of departments within the business.
Specific experiences you can expect during your Internship: -Leading and/or shadowing demonstrations of new ag equipment and technology -Partnering with full-time team members to understand and provide solution-based business consulting services to customers directly -Attend and support customer trainings, sales meetings, and other summer events -Participating in internal projects including but not limited to data analysis, CRM management, marketing, and sales -Supporting user operation trainings and demonstrations of John Deere whole goods and precision technology products and solutions to internal and external customers across various product lines including but not limited to Ag, Golf & Sports Turf, and Commercial -Gaining a deeper understanding of dealership operations outside of Sales Department through job shadowing across other functions such as Parts and Precision Technology -Attending impactful events such as industry tours of various company partners within the agricultural industry. -Any other job duties as assigned during your internship
What we’re looking for in the ideal intern candidate: -Currently enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of a 4-year degree program within an Agriculture or Business major required -Deep passion for the Agricultural industry and a high level of interest in Sales -General understanding of agricultural or heavy equipment operation -Previous understanding and experience within a sales focused role preferred -Solutions oriented with the ability to evaluate processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate finding to others. -Customer focused mindset with past successful experience supporting internal or external customer needs directly -Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to juggle priorities and switch gears as needed -Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing -Open to local (day) travel to other store locations and/or customers -Ability to be insurable under company fleet insurance policy Accessibility: If you need an accommodation as part of the employment process please contact Human Resources
