Summary of Position

The Sales Manager, Corporate & Leisure Sales is responsible for driving transient revenue by cultivating strong relationships across the corporate, consortia, and wholesale segments. This role focuses on managing preferred corporate agreements, identifying new business opportunities, and enhancing partnerships with key leisure travel agencies and wholesale operators. This dual-focus position requires a strategic, relationship-driven sales professional with deep knowledge of both the corporate and luxury leisure travel landscapes. The ideal candidate will represent the Maybourne Beverly Hills brand with poise and passion, while executing a results-oriented sales strategy that aligns with the property’s positioning and revenue goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long-term, value-driven relationships with clients and prospects in alignment with the hotel's sales objectives.
  • Deliver exceptional service, clear communication, and prompt follow-up to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Conduct impactful site inspections, plan and host familiarization (FAM) trips, and execute strategic sales travel to drive engagement and bookings.

Corporate Travel Sales

  • Proactively identify, solicit, and convert new corporate travel accounts through targeted prospecting, market intelligence, and direct outreach.
  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of corporate accounts, including global travel managers and agency partners.
  • Negotiate preferred rate agreements in accordance with brand guidelines and revenue optimization strategies.
  • Conduct regular account reviews, presentations, and participate in client-facing events and industry trade shows.
  • Partner with Revenue Management and cross-functional teams to ensure competitive pricing, availability, and tailored guest experiences.
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date records in CRM platforms such as Delphi and Salesforce.

Leisure Segment Sales

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of high-value leisure transient accounts, with a focus on consortia and wholesale partners.
  • Cultivate relationships with top-producing travel advisors, agencies, and wholesalers through proactive outreach and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with the Maybourne Global Sales Team to execute on consortia program participation and account management.
  • Analyze competitive market data (e.g., Hotelligence) to identify opportunities and shift share from competitors.
  • Implement a sales plan designed to exceed leisure segment revenue targets.

Market Analysis & Revenue Optimization

  • Stay informed on market trends and competitor performance to identify new business opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Monitor sales performance against goals, making data-informed adjustments to achieve optimal revenue outcomes.
  • Support revenue initiatives through knowledge of rate loading, revenue reporting, and yield management principles.

Industry Engagement & Representation

  • Represent Maybourne Beverly Hills at key travel industry events, trade shows, and sales missions, both domestically and internationally.
  • Work closely with international representation firms to drive demand from priority leisure markets such as Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Account Management & Internal Collaboration

  • Orchestrate regular (monthly, quarterly, annual) account reviews and market action plans in collaboration with fellow Directors and Managers to drive production.
  • Actively research and develop B2B opportunities to increase brand awareness, grow total account management, and maximize hotel profitability.
  • Partner with marketing to execute relevant promotions and initiatives that support client education and incentivization.

Leadership & Brand Advocacy

  • Serve as a passionate brand ambassador for The Maybourne Hotel Group, articulating brand values and service philosophy in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate initiative, entrepreneurial thinking, and a proactive approach to capturing new business.
  • Celebrate team milestones and foster a positive, collaborative team culture.

Administrative & Reporting

  • Provide timely reporting on market trends, account activity, and performance forecasts to the Director of Revenue Management and Director of Transient Sales.
  • Make informed decisions within established guidelines, budget frameworks, and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain proficiency in key reporting systems and platforms to support data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  1. At least 3 years related industry experience – Previous Five Star/Luxury Hotel Sales Experience is essential.
  2. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  3. Proven strong relationship within the luxury network with key contacts in North America in the Travel Industry sector.
  4. Proficient with Hotelligence and strong knowledge and command of Lanyon is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of transient business including contractual agreements and legal implications.
  6. Ability to use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
  7. Creates an atmosphere in which timely information flows smoothly throughout the department; possesses exceptional communications skills.
  8. Experience working within hotel sales operations, managing team members and budgets.
  9. Ability to translate business needs into what needs to be done; ensures that all work is completed effectively; monitors the progress of work against schedules and budgets; maintains high performance standards.
  10. Understands our competition and knows how to sell against them.
  11. Possession of in-depth understanding of global travel in addition to a network of contacts.
  12. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook systems.
  13. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in dynamic and fast-changing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of walking around and standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
