JOB SUMMARY:
The role of Sales Manager for the Building Automation Construction and Service Sales team requires you to manage and grow our existing team of sales professionals in Georgia.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Ensure existing client satisfaction and win new clients by working with our sales and operation teams.
Organize the sales team to ensure all our end users and contractor/consultant partners needs are met. This will include working with our sales team during on-site visits, training lunches and after project completion follow-up, etc.
Act as a strategic and technical resource to our sales team regarding our products, applications, and services.
Identify service agreement growth opportunities and create a sales funnel for the opportunities.
Understand our service agreement deliverables for Building Automation.
Provide strategic direction for the service agreement sales cycle.
Review all service agreement estimates and proposals before they are presented to the customer.
Support the Construction to Service Turnover process for all strategic construction projects.
Provide regular forecasts to Service Operations of new agreements, add to existing agreements, and agreement renewals.
Provide consistent communication with each sales team member so that you can set sales goals, further develop skills, manage employee performance, and provide informed performance appraisals.
Review bidding to ensure accuracy and assist in determining margins, identifying resources for labor and specialty materials and product discounts.
Assess the overall market and stay informed of future business opportunities.
Participate with individual sales engineers in selling to large/key accounts as needed and maintain an ongoing personal connection with large/key accounts.
Develop monthly sales forecasts based on inputting and tracking project opportunities into our internal CRMvery easy use unlike nationally known systems.
Hire and train new sales engineers as the market demand requires.
Participate in the development of long-range sales planning and growth strategies and develop sales/marketing promotions in conjunction with our marketing manager.
Be aware of competitor product/service information and advise employees on effective sales tactics as needed. Maintain trade contacts and participate in functions in industry associations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires a mix of sedentary office time and physical time spent at project jobsites while conducting job walks. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes when required. You will spend extensive time using computers and IT peripherals while in the office with consistent typing and spending much of your time seated or standing at a desk or computer. Small repetitive motions with mouse and keyboard is required.
POSITION TYPE AND HOURS:
Full-time, non-exempt
Typical Monday Friday working hours with some after-hours time needed to attend industry events and meet bid deadlines. Some overnight travel may also be required so schedule flexibility is needed.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time
Must possess valid driver's license with limited violations
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:
8+ years of sales experience within the building automation or similar industry
Must be able to demonstrate presentation, oral and written communication skills for coaching sales staff and interfacing with customers
Preferred: Bachelors degree in business administration, Engineering or other related field
Preferred: 2+ years of experience managing sales teams within the building automation or similar industry
