Position Summary
We’re looking for a motivated sales rep to grow LOCALE in the Southeast Mountains Region by opening new accounts and getting our brand into the right doors. This role is ideal for someone who loves to sell—finding opportunities, closing deals, and building strong retail partnerships. You’ll be the face of LOCALE in your territory, representing our values of creativity, quality, and the outdoors.
This role requires the rep to be located within the Southeast Mountains Region—ideally near Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Chattanooga, or Asheville—for efficient travel to accounts.
What You’ll Do
Open and manage new retail accounts across the Southeast Mountains Region, focusing on Eastern Tennessee, Western North Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, North Georgia, and Northern Alabama.
Target prospects in mountain towns, national park gateways, tourism-driven shops, and outdoor lifestyle retailers.
Leverage your network and industry knowledge to accelerate growth in hiking, camping, climbing, resort, and boutique channels.
Manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and product presentations to order writing and reorders.
Build and execute a territory-specific sales strategy with support from the internal team.
Maintain accurate records and pipeline activity in our CRM (HubSpot).
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customers receive top-tier support and tailored products.
Provide regular product and market feedback to help shape future designs and offerings.
Represent LOCALE at trade shows , regional events, and industry gatherings.
Transport and present a full sample line to buyers (must be comfortable lifting and traveling with up to 35 lbs).
Be an internal and external ambassador for the company, to help build confidence, pride, and value in the brand.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of sales experience, ideally in apparel, headwear, or outdoor lifestyle categories.
Familiarity with destination-driven retail ( tourism, national parks, mountain towns ) and outdoor lifestyle markets ( hiking, climbing, camping ).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
A self-starter who works independently , stays organized, and drives results.
Comfortable with CRM tools and digital workflows.
Illustrator/Adobe Creative Suite skills are a plus. Candidates with these skills will be prioritized but they’re not required.
Physical Demands
This role involves frequent travel and physical activity, including:
Lifting and transporting sample bags and rolling racks up to 35 lbs.
Standing and presenting for extended periods during meetings or trade shows.
Loading/unloading samples and setting up displays.
Regular laptop and phone use.
Extensive driving across the territory in a reliable vehicle to meet with retailers.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position, generally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
Frequent travel within the Southeast Mountains Region, with occasional U.S. travel for trade shows and meetings.
