A leading, long-established manufacturer in the building materials sector is seeking an experienced Sales Representative – Masonry & Architectural to join their California team. Known for delivering innovative and high-quality masonry, paver, and decorative wall solutions, the company has earned a strong reputation across the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) community. This hybrid position blends hands-on sales with technical product promotion, offering the chance to work closely with contractors, builders, and design professionals to influence specifications and drive growth.
The Role
This role combines direct sales to contractors, builders, and end-users with technical promotion to architects, designers, engineers, and specifiers. You’ll act as a trusted advisor for all matters relating to the company’s products and systems, providing in-field and office-based support. Success in this position means building strong relationships, securing product specifications on projects, and ensuring exceptional service from first contact through project completion. The role reports to senior sales leadership and involves regular cross-functional collaboration with technical and marketing teams.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, architects, specifiers, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
Provide technical information, specifications, and design assistance to secure product inclusion in project plans.
Educate customers and the design community on product use, applications, and design alignment.
Promote the company through in-office seminars, published resources, and participation in industry events (e.g., AIA, CSI, trade shows).
Monitor market trends, codes, and technical developments, sharing insights with management.
Assist customers in person, over the phone, and on-site to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
Prepare sales reports and coordinate responses to complex or challenging customer needs.
Identify and develop project leads for future business opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of sales experience in building materials, masonry, or related construction products.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a professional, proactive, and personable approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows systems.
Clean driving record.
Nice to Have
Experience with BIM processes and tools such as Trimble SketchUp and Autodesk Revit.
Established network within the California construction and AEC design community.
Salary
Competitive compensation package.
Location
Full-time, on-site position based in Fontana, Rialto, Sun Valley, or Indio, CA. Monday to Friday schedule, with travel to client sites and industry events.
