Description: Summary: The Sales Support Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of being our customers’ competitive advantage by leading and working alongside the sales support team to partner with our sales team in developing and supporting a profitable sales strategy for key customers. Important elements of the sales strategy include: identifying sales opportunities, creating efficiencies in the data shared between Van Meter and the customer, reporting on customer specific inventory levels, exploring potential margin gain, and deploying pricing strategies to support the overall profit goals for the customer.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Collaborates with Sales, Sales Support and Supplier Operations teams to apply an overall company pricing strategy for our suppliers. Identifies and communicates potential cost improvement opportunities to Supplier Operations teams and deploys a strategy with the sales team to utilize the savings to balance sales growth with margin improvement Provides data and guidance to sales team in efforts to adjust pricing strategies to ensure ROI or risk is managed Develops company KPI’s to measure price strategy effectiveness Executes various price change cadence strategies with the tools to support maintenance and deploys them appropriately with guidance from Sales Leadership when necessary Provides critical industry and competitive analysis, pricing strategies and pricing program development Works with Supplier Operations Teams and Product Managers to develop and deploy balanced selling or gap analysis tools to identify opportunities to grow share with customers and deploy pricing strategy to support Provides awareness and support on improving performance of customer specific inventory and Assists sales in evaluating performance of customer data required for system integration (ex. Customer part numbers, large/unique RFQ’s (request for quote) and open order reporting) Manages internal ticketing system (Fresh Service) to ensure requests to support customers are properly assigned and completed by team members Develops a strong understanding of the company’s cost management strategy (including growth rebates, burden cost, ship & debit contracts, etc) and how to apply to customer pricing and profitability strategy. Evaluate and determine product data required to develop effective gap analysis and profitability mining tools for the sales team and partner with Supplier Operations and Product Data to create and deploy in our PIM system Partners with sales and supplier operations teams to develop, modifies, implements and analyzes current and new Base Matrix (Class and Strategic) sell strategies Provides decision-making support to Account Managers and Sales Leadership Conducts pricing market research Provides customer and supplier data mining and analysis Manages other pricing and reporting projects Handle internal customer requests and concerns Promote our culture and 5 P’s
Requirements: Critical Success Factors: Ability to work collaboratively with all departments Customer focused with a high rate of customer satisfaction Able to build strong relationships with internal customers, vendors and suppliers Ability to analyze workload and establish priorities with time sensitive deadlines Ability to make sound decisions with minimal guidance Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to understand and implement our processes and procedures Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and develop solutions Must lead by example by displaying a positive work ethic and attitude Excellent follow through on questions or issues Strong attention to detail Drives for continuous improvement Job Requirements/Specifications: 0-2 years of experience with an Associate’s Degree, four-year degree preferred Education in Pricing Strategy is a plus Previous experience in analyzing and presenting complex data in an easy to understand format Experience managing or coordinating projects is required Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required Advanced skills in mining data using business software Previous distribution center experience is a plus Electrical product knowledge is a plus Knowledge of Eclipse preferred Work Environment & Physical Demands: Consistently sitting working with hands and fingers, talking, and hearing Frequently reaching, works alone, and customer contact Sometimes standing, walking, vision acuity near and far, depth perception, and works with others Occasionally non-standard shift work and extended day The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
