Description: We are hiring for a Sales VP, Large Format. As the Vice President of Sales, Large Format, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and achieving strategic objectives, particularly in supporting our Kroger, Costco, and Albertson accounts. You will collaborate closely with the Senior VP to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the overall corporate goals. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in retail sales management, strong business acumen, and full P&L responsibility for key accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives that maximize growth opportunities within the Kroger and Albertson accounts.
Collaborate with the President to align national sales strategies with the company's overall business objectives and goals.
Provide leadership and direction to the national sales team, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies.
Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders at Kroger and Albertson.
Negotiate and manage national agreements, contracts, and pricing structures to optimize profitability and market share.
Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated issues and resolutions related to these accounts.
Sales Performance and Analysis: Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Develop KPIs and metrics to track sales performance against targets and report regularly to executive management.
Implement corrective actions and strategies as needed to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, finance, and other departments to align strategies and support overall business objectives.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between sales and other functional areas to optimize business performance.
Foster a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and continuous improvement within the sales organization.
Partnership Leverage: Utilize strategic partnerships to achieve above-industry growth, enhance operational efficiencies, and gain insights for deeper shopper understanding.
Market Analysis: Conduct detailed market analysis to identify emerging opportunities, monitor competitive activities, and understand industry trends to influence product development and marketing strategies.
Internal Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely development and delivery of high-quality, innovative products that meet customer expectations.
Reporting: Provide sales and business updates, as well as strategic partnership progress reports to the Leadership Team, offering insights and recommendations to adjust strategies and achieve business goals.
Requirements: Industry Experience: Over 10 years of sales experience in the food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods industry, with a strong focus on retail partnerships and co-manufacturing, including full P&L management.
Commercial Strategy: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful commercial strategies within private label and branded products.
Contract Negotiation: Proven track record of negotiating and securing contracts with leading retailers and industry players, ideally within the snack food category.
Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building and sustaining relationships with key decision-makers.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex market data into actionable strategies.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is highly preferred.
