Sales/Customer And Team Support Associate Sales/Customer and Team Support Associate handles customer interactions across multiple channels (in person, phone, email, and chat), assists with product selection for diesel applications, troubleshoots customer issues, and maintains accurate documentation. This role requires strong knowledge of diesel engines for pickup truck applications, excellent communication skills, and adherence to quality protocols to ensure exceptional customer service and team support.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
Engage with customers in person, via phone, email, and chat to understand their diesel automotive needs and provide timely, professional responses.
Build rapport with customers to foster long-term relationships and promote DAP's products and services.
Product Selection and Sales:
Assess customer requirements for diesel performance parts (e.g., injectors, pumps, turbos) and recommend appropriate products based on pickup truck applications.
Guide customers through product options, specifications, and compatibility to facilitate informed purchases and upsell opportunities.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve customer issues related to diesel engine performance, part installation, or product functionality, escalating complex cases to technical teams as needed.
Provide clear, step-by-step guidance to customers on troubleshooting common diesel engine problems in pickup trucks.
Documentation and Team Support:
Accurately document all customer interactions, inquiries, resolutions, and sales in CRM systems and shared tools.
Collaborate with sales, warehouse, and operations teams to share customer feedback, coordinate product availability, and support internal processes.
Process Improvement:
Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to reduce waste (e.g., DOWNTIME: Defect, Overproduction, Waiting, Non-Utilized Potential, Transport, Inventory, Motion, Extra Processing) in customer service and documentation workflows.
Maintain a 5S-organized digital workspace (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) for efficient interaction tracking and team collaboration.
Safety:
Adhere to Safety Policy when handling parts for demonstration or verification, using protective gear (e.g., gloves) if needed.
Report any work-related injuries to the team leader immediately for Worker's Compensation processing.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines for pickup truck applications, including performance parts like injectors, pumps, and turbos.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions across channels.
Proficiency in computer systems, including CRM software, email platforms, chat tools, word processors, and basic inventory systems.
Training for proprietary tools will be provided.
Strong organizational skills to maintain a 5S-compliant digital and physical workspace.
Preferred (Bonus):
Experience in sales or customer service within the automotive or diesel industry.
Familiarity with troubleshooting diesel engine issues or product selection for performance upgrades.
Prior use of e-commerce platforms or sales tracking software.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while handling phone, email, and chat interactions.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs for handling parts during demonstrations or verification.
Dexterity to manage small auto parts for customer consultations or troubleshooting purposes.
Work Environment:
Professional office setting with periodic visits to the warehouse for operational needs.
Fast-paced, collaborative environment using software tools for sales, inventory, and shipping.
Potential for noise and dust in production areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
