Role Profile
Position Summary
The Pop-up Store Lead is a non-exempt part-time position at our retail store that reports to the Manager of Strategic Initiatives. This role is responsible for requesting product, executing operations of pop-up events, and driving sales for offsite locations. This role partners with Strategic Initiatives, Main Store, and DC teams. The key accountabilities for the Pop-up Store Lead are operations and logistics, merchandising, event management, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Competencies for Success: Customer focus Adaptability Presentation Merchandising and retailing Fostering Communication Team leadership Attention to detail Project planning Managing Project Execution and Communications Managing resources Key Accountabilities & Achievements: Leadership, management, and accountability (LMA): Communicate clear expectations and provide consistent direction to team members to ensure alignment with offsite event goals. Delegate responsibilities effectively and foster open communication with partners. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through consistent feedback and recognition of team contributions.
Merchandising and Product Management: Request, receive, and merchandise product for events. Follow direction and uphold brand standards through visual floor sets for set events. Use store reports to provide regular feedback and suggestions to the team about product sell-through and customer requests.
Customer Service focus: Model and support the University Co-op's customer service standards to ensure an excellent customer experience. Ensure all customers understand the story and mission of the University Co-op and support donations.
Coach and Train Sales Associates: Coach and train Sales Associates to exemplify core values, support customer service standards, and comply with standard operating procedures for offsite events. Regularly engage in recap conversations to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for adjustment.
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience for Success: High school diploma or GED required. 1+ year retail and/or customer service experience preferred. Ability to communicate with internal and external partners. POS experience is preferred. Physical Demands: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, in accordance with company policy. Must maintain an acceptable driving record for company-related travel and transportation of goods or personnel. Ability to operate a company vehicle safely, with a valid driver's license and no major traffic violations Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors). Continuous sitting, standing, walking, using stairs, hearing, talking, bending, crouching, and working closely with others. Exerting up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds via dolly) of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work Environment: Ability to work flexible hours with variable schedules from week-to-week that may include early mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Will work with outdoor elements and high temperatures. Moderate noise (examples: customer and employee conversation, street traffic)
