Candidates who are energized by these aspirations will find a meaningful and supportive home at the High.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Seasonal Shop Sales Associate performs daily front-of-house functions necessary to achieve the holiday sales goals of the Retail Operations Department at the High Museum. This role will be required to perform duties at both the main shop and upcoming pop-up shop locations.WORK SCHEDULESeasonal position, September through January16-24 hours per weekWeekend availability requiredShifts may include opening/closing, evenings, extended hours, special events, and peak holiday periodsWHAT YOU WILL DO:Guest Service & Sales - 30%Contribute to daily sales goals through excellent customer service, and product knowledge.Engage and assist guests throughout the shopping experience-from entry to checkout-with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.Actively promote Museum membership by encouraging guests to become Members.Consistently solicit Round-Up donations after each purchase.Operations & Transactions - 30%Execute accurate sales transactions using the Shopify POS System.Perform daily opening and closing functions, including cleaning tasks and handling change requests.Maintain compliance with departmental policies and practices.Merchandising & Inventory - 20%Assist with merchandising, restocking, and organizing the sales floor and storage areas.Support the annual shop inventory process.Maintain product displays to ensure a visually appealing and guest-friendly environment.Museum Knowledge & Engagement - 20%Maintain current knowledge of the Museum's permanent collection, exhibitions, and public programs to provide informed guest interactions.Represent the Museum in a professional and welcoming manner.WHAT WILL WE EXPECT OF YOU: Be flexible with your schedule. Excel in managing and guiding teams.Well-Organized: Maintain meticulous organization.Proactive in Facilitating and Responding to Change: Quickly adapt to evolving situations.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma and at least one year of retail experienceSome knowledge of art history is a plus Language Skills Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skillsBilingual ability a plusMathematical Skills Strong math skills, with the ability to calculate rates, percentages, and balance a cash registerPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to stand for 4-8 hour shiftsAbility to occasionally lift and move items up to 50 poundsWork effectively in a fast-paced environment
