Senior Business Analyst, Sales Analytics
Wayfair is seeking a relentlessly curious, solutions-oriented Senior Business Analyst to join the Sales Analytics & Data Enablement team within the Global Sales organization. The team exists to marry customer data across sources (internal and external) to deepen our business understanding of our customer base and use those insights to improve the shopping experience across Sales, Site, and Marketing channels. We provide thought leadership and analytical rigor needed to drive our rapidly evolving Wayfair Professional & Global sales teams.
The Sales Analytics & Data Enablement team is responsible for building, managing, and optimizing core reporting artifacts while improving the Sales and customer experience with targeted analyses supporting our Global Sales / B2B long term vision. Our team acts as the Business owners / liaisons to the Global Sales Data Engineering team, ensuring that Business needs are aligned. We are highly cross-functional and work closely with roles in the Technology group (eg: Product Management and Engineering) and are deeply embedded within the business (eg: Field operations, Marketing, and Storefront) with the ultimate goal of growing the Wayfair Professional & Global sales teams.
In this role, you will be a key business contributor and assist with business insights for leaders driving the Wayfair Professional & Global sales team agendas. This role requires a blend of strong analytical experience, and the ability to communicate analytical insights in a crisp and clear way to the business. Stakeholder management and business acumen will be key components for success. You will apply your analytical knowledge to understand customer behavior and business performance and provide insights to the business designed to enable revenue growth, better customer experience, operational efficiency and profitability. You will think critically to tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced and high-growth environment. You will build a foundation as a trusted partner for the business, contributing insights that directly influence leadership decisions and strategic priorities
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with senior leaders to identify key opportunities and challenges, providing data-driven insights that influence business strategies.
Develop a deep understanding of Wayfair Professional and B2C sales operations, including key performance indicators (KPIs) like efficiency and conversion rates, to provide meaningful recommendations.
Use tools like GBQ, SQL, and Looker to analyze customer and business data, synthesize insights, and present clear, actionable recommendations. Conduct analysis with clean data such as sales agent performance or dashboards and provide actionable takeaways and point of view when presenting business cases to senior leadership.
Propose innovative approaches to complex, non-routine problems by connecting analytical insights with business needs.
Work closely with teams across Technology (e.g., Product Management, Engineering) and the Business (e.g., Marketing, Field Operations) to ensure your insights drive action and results.
Oversee and refine analytical work by junior team members, providing guidance to ensure high-quality deliverables while fostering their growth.
Dive into the logic behind data models and operational processes to understand customer behavior, optimize lead generation, and identify opportunities for improved decision-making.
Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems with deep customer and business focus, leveraging your analytical acumen to recommend innovative business approaches as needed.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
Post-graduate work in related field, prior management consulting experience or internship, a plus
Strong analytical background and 2+ years of experience in extracting insights and operating with large data sets to identify trends and actionable takeaways
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, SQL or GBQ, and data visualization tools such as Google Data Studio (Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI)
Excellent communication, both written and verbally
Data and process-oriented, demonstrated ability to continuously learn new tools
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Ability to navigate an environment of continuous improvement working through ambiguity in an evolving organization
Ability to collaborate with partners in the Technology organization and the Business organizations to deliver real-time performance data to the business leadership team
A proactive approach to take initiative to dive deeper into the logic behind datasets and data models that are influencing customer targeting, call routing, customer valuation, and similar areas when necessary
