The Senior Manager of Restaurant Operations will work with cross-functional partners to support Wayfair 's expansion of Physical Retail, leading a focused effort to develop a best-in-class cafe/restaurant showcased in the Wayfair retail store concept. We are seeking a motivated leader who can help develop our restaurant operations platform. This role is based in Boston, MA and reports to the Vice President of Physical Retail. As the retail portfolio grows, the Senior Manager of Restaurant Operations should expect to support an increasing number of assets and transactions. This position is a key member of the Wayfair Physical Retail Core Leadership team that will help craft the playbook to stand-up and scale stores in North America across the Wayfair family of brands. Purpose of Job: Developing the initial framework to launch the Wayfair in-store restaurant concept Leading the Cafe and Restaurant to support sales, converting visitors to customers. This job is also accountable for leading by example related to food safety, production, quality, efficiency and presentation. What You'll Do: Responsible amplifying the customer experience by overseeing a best in class restaurant/cafe within the Wayfair prototype store Selects and partners with 3rd party restaurant providers who will execute daily operations In partnership with Finance, manages a budget and assists in the design of improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity. Including methods, resources, and implementation for service improvement and growth based on operational needs/capabilities. Ensures all food incidents or potential incidents are handled according to protocol Coordinates with external service providers and health departments when needed, managing compliance with all local, state and Federal regulations and codes and maintains all associated records and reports. Ensures compliance with Wayfair’s standards of operation including safety standards. Including, but not limited to SOPs for receiving, inventory management, cash management Support the development of the initial store operations, SOP’s, training material Work with store managers to understand, identify and address issues and gaps Following the opening of the initial retail location, evaluate store operations, employee and customer satisfaction & adjust operations/staffing accordingly Contributes to an environment where Wayfair’s People Principles are a living reality that embraces the diversity of associates and customers What You Need: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience Physical Retail experience preferred, with experience managing restaurant operations High level of experience and knowledge of food safety requirements Experience with food production levels and optimizing food ordering Restaurant Operations experience for 5+ years Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to create, lead and implement important strategic initiatives Ability to implement strategic plans, drive results with multiple stakeholders and bring future state vision to life Knowledge and understanding of financial framework, profit and loss and inventory methods Knowledge of local market and competition in order to support innovative methods to exceed business goals Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Wayfair is fully committed to providing equal opportunities for all individuals, including individuals with disabilities.
