Essential Functions The Director is responsible for setting and executing the short-term and long-term commercial strategy for Howmet Aerospace Distribution - HAD Simi Valley customers. This role involves understanding, mapping, and developing strategic plans for sales and margin, and coordinating these strategies. The position collaborates with the Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) Commercial team on global internal commercial strategy development, with a focus on North America. Responsibilities include supporting the development of the global HAD commercial strategic plan, growth initiatives, and managing interfaces between Sales/Marketing, customer representatives, and management. The role also involves resolving issues related to orders, delivery, product applications, and other commercial and technical matters. Responsibilities Lead the commercial team (Sales Manager and Account Management) in identifying, developing, and maintaining customer accounts aligned with business strategy, aiming to optimize HAD business. Support, develop, and implement the commercial strategy for HAD Simi Valley, coordinating with HAD Aichach and HAD Hong Kong and product marketing. Set challenging objectives to meet growth targets and develop new business in existing and emerging markets, with clear priorities and action plans. Collaborate with Procurement to establish inventory investment initiatives linked to sales development; participate in global procurement and investment activities across HAD sites. Coordinate with various HFS locations worldwide to ensure high customer satisfaction. Review and manage contract requirements, ensuring compliance with policies, including intellectual property considerations. Support customers and suppliers for a broad range of products and applications. Ensure accurate communication of contract and pricing information across the organization. Prepare and deliver customer presentations; coordinate product and marketing literature, and trade show materials. Manage people responsibilities such as hiring, performance reviews, and professional development. Identify and develop team members’ skills to enhance effectiveness and efficiency, aligned with business needs. Work with Simi Valley Finance to ensure proper implementation of policies, forecasts, and budgets. Adhere to all company policies, safety rules, and environmental regulations, reporting incidents as required. Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Innovative thinking and creativity. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). QualificationsBasic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; MBA preferred. At least 10 years of experience in distribution sales, preferably in aerospace hardware products. Minimum of 7 years in a management role. Proven leadership and interpersonal skills to manage teams and interact effectively at all organizational levels. Preferred Qualifications MBA in a related field. Experience in the fastener manufacturing industry. Benefits/Salary Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, 401k matching, paid holidays, and vacation.
