Position Summary:
The Strategic Account Manager is primarily responsible for growing sales within the Winsmith and Perfection Gear product lines by aggressively developing new distributor partners and OEM customers while effectively managing the established distributor and OEM customer base. The territory for this position will consist of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Alaska. All applicants should reside near a major airport and be able to travel up to 60% of the time.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes delivery of technical solutions and sales support to end-customers and distributors to grow share of wallet within territory and customer base
Lead the development and execution of pipelines for prospective and current/perspective OEM customers with a focus on food & beverage, material handling and packaging markets
Develops local business plans to ensure market share increases/key product focus within the region focused on achieving business plan financial targets and KPI's
Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan for current and prospective distributors and OEM customers
Partner closely with engineering and marketing teams to identify new applications and product opportunities
Recommends products and services that fit well with customers' business needs
Develop and recommend for approval, policies and programs relating to product, market channels, competitive pricing, sales objectives by product and market, new product development and improvement of present products, delivery, and other competitive information
Develop relationships with key end user customers, focusing on product specification based on application requirements
Analyze and document competitive products and practices in the territory; keep management informed concerning them and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
Submit regular activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships
Provide sales forecasts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as defined by leadership
Update industry knowledge by participating in associations, educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks
Experience and Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mechanical or Industrial desired with demonstrated experience in industrial enclosed gearing markets
5 years outside sales experience with OEM and Distribution customers in power transmission markets preferred
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, well organized
Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time
