Kismet client, weSure, is looking to hire a Territory Sales Manager for the Mid-Atlantic territory that will be responsible for managing and growing a distribution network of independent retail agencies and wholesalers, as well as generating profitable new and renewal business for weSure Digital's small commercial products.
This role ensures agents are aligned with the company's goals and underwriting guidelines while fostering strong relationships to increase loyalty and retention. In addition, this role will be responsible for building relationships and cooperation with additional carrier partners, as well as with other distribution partners, such as aggregators, agency networks, marketplaces, etc.
This is a remote role with significant (50%) travel to agencies and other distribution partners throughout TN, SC & VA , as well as occasional visits to weSure Digital's main US offices in New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory and Agency Management: Develop and implement agency plans for each product offering within the territory and state. Monitor performance to ensure profitable growth of new and renewal business, in line with underwriting appetite and guidelines.
Agent Recruitment and Development: Execute and manage the entire agency relationship lifecycle from prospecting and appointing to managing and evaluating agents and other distribution partners.
Production Management: Utilize marketing tools (e.g. Salesforce), submission activity and underwriting tools to meet territorial production objectives profitably. Drive agency production initiatives and ensure partners achieve their business goals.
Partner Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels within agencies and other distribution partners. Monitor partner performance and implement corrective actions as needed (e.g., business plans, overrides, bonuses/gift cards).
Profitability Management: Analyze and manage profitability metrics such as accident year loss ratios, calendar year loss ratios, allowable loss ratios, and return on sales (ROS).
Data-Driven Problem Solving: Interpret agency and territory data to derive insights and provide actionable recommendations.
Industry Engagement: Develop rapport with industry peers and actively participate in trade associations and industry events.
Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the successful achievement of corporate objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
Special Projects: Lead special initiatives such as rate reviews, product improvements, and the implementation of new programs.
Collections: Ensure timely follow-up on unpaid premiums with agencies.
Agent Education: Train agents/producers/CSRs on products, automation tools, marketing materials, and company procedures, appetite and underwriting guidelines. Organize in-person and virtual territory functions, meetings, and training sessions / webinars.
Competitive Analysis: Gather and analyze competitive intelligence on pricing, coverages, and market trends.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required to align with company objectives, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field
At least 5 years of small commercial lines distribution and frontline/production underwriting experience
