Position Overview:
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving business development and managing client relationships throughout a designated region. You'll work closely with athletic directors, coaches, facility managers, architects, and contractors to identify project opportunities and provide end-to-end support on running track and athletic surface installations.
This role blends outside sales, account management, and light project coordination-ideal for a driven professional with experience in construction or building materials, especially within the sports or education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with prospects and customers in your assigned territory Build a sales pipeline by engaging stakeholders including school officials, designers, and contractors Present solutions through product knowledge, technical specs, and visual samples Prepare competitive proposals and quotes in response to bid opportunities and leads Support project teams on contracts, material procurement, schedules, and documentation Conduct job site visits and serve as a key contact during installations to ensure client satisfaction Offer value-engineering suggestions to optimize costs and project outcomes Manage change orders, billing communication, and project close-out tasks Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or construction management preferred 3+ years of sales experience in construction, building materials, or related industries Experience in sports surfacing or athletic facility development is a plus Ability to read blueprints and technical documents Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Willingness to travel frequently throughout the U.S. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Desired Traits: Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset Excellent judgment and decision-making Skilled in negotiation and solution selling Comfortable working independently in the field and collaboratively with internal teams What We Offer: Competitive base salary + commission structure Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Paid time off and company holidays Opportunities for advancement in a growing company Company-provided travel accommodations and mileage reimbursement
