Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available Administrative Assistant/ Back-Up Plumbing Showroom Sales position in Urbana, IL. We seek a career-minded person looking for a long-term career with a great company. A background in plumbing or the construction industry is preferred but not required. Strong computer and customer service skills are necessary.
Candidates must be available to:


• Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Be available to work from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Principal Accountabilities

Answers incoming calls, screens, and directs calls to the appropriate person.

Greets visitors

Maintain the front desk area in a neat and organized fashion

Sorts and delivers mail daily

General filing

Enters and submits the weekly payroll hours for the branch employees into UKG

Accounts Receivable (A/R) data entry

Monitors invoices for tax-exempt status, delivery charges, and freight charges and adds/modifies them if needed.

Receives packing lists once purchase orders have been checked in

Scan daily manifests

Monitors transfers (old and/or disputed)

Order office and warehouse supplies as needed

Demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders

Recommend products to customers based on the customer’s needs and interests

Answers customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and schedules appointments

Estimate or quote prices, explain warranties, and delivery dates

Prepare estimates and bids that meet specific customer needs

Follow-up on estimates and bids submitted to customers

Provide customers with product brochures or catalogs

Consult with clients after sales to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Monitor product innovations, competitors’ products, pricing, and sales

Process Return Goods and update Returns Goods Queue

Provide the Branch Manager with reports or additional tasks as requested

Attend industry trade shows and product training when needed

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Experience Required

High School Diploma or its equivalent

Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience

Kitchen & Bath design experience preferred, but not required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

Must be very detail-oriented and focused on accuracy

Must be friendly and have a positive attitude

Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload

Self motivated

Critical thinker, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Ability to learn Eclipse software

Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines

Requires maturity and experience to interface with all levels of management, personnel, and customers

Must have strong interpersonal communication skills

Strong organizational skills are required

Must be able to determine and prioritize workload

Willingness to travel (training events)
