The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth through integrated sales and marketing strategies, building and leading the sales team, and developing strategic customer relationships. This role oversees all go-to-market functions, including revenue generation, brand positioning, demand creation, and customer engagement. As a key executive in a publicly traded EV company, the VP will align sales strategies with corporate goals, manage investor-related metrics, and ensure compliance with public company standards. The ideal candidate will have industry expertise, strong relationship-building skills, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a high-growth, publicly traded environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Sales Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for growth across B2B, B2C, and government segments, identifying new market opportunities.
Marketing:
Lead brand strategy, positioning, and storytelling across channels to increase awareness and demand. Oversee digital marketing, content, events, and campaigns to support product launches and customer acquisition. Maintain consistent brand voice across all touchpoints.
Team Development & Management:
Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Provide ongoing training and development.
Market Analysis & Expansion:
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and growth opportunities, developing strategies for market penetration and expansion.
Client & Partnership Management:
Cultivate relationships with strategic customers and partners, lead complex negotiations, and secure alliances to expand reach. Manage domestic and international channel and distribution partnerships. Identify and close major enterprise and government sales.
Performance & Reporting:
Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets. Develop sales forecasts and reporting in line with public company standards, presenting performance updates to leadership.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work with Investor Relations on sales pipeline communication, support due diligence, board reporting, and public disclosures. Provide market insights for product development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
10+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in EV charging or related tech sectors.
Experience scaling revenue at fast-growing or public companies.
Proven success in developing sales strategies, exceeding targets, and managing sales teams.
Deep understanding of the EV charging industry, market dynamics, and competitors.
Experience with B2B and B2C sales, including complex enterprise sales cycles.
Proficiency in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM tools like Salesforce.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
