The VP of Sales will lead, support, and direct the efforts of our client's sales team. The team consists of Business Managers, each focused on their field of agricultural nutrition. Each of these individuals is dedicated to sourcing new clients and developing new business opportunities. Work in cooperation with the company's leadership team to develop a detailed sales plan and strategy to increase revenue, expand business opportunities, and gain market share. In reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in the development of our company's strategic sales initiatives.
In this role, you should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, team-centered environment that will challenge you and allow you to use your experience and expertise to develop a highly effective and productive sales force and ensure the continued growth and achievement of company goals.

Salary Range: Total compensation $300k/yr +

Roles & Responsibilities:
Meet or exceed company sales objectives.
Collaborate with the Leadership Team and Business Managers to develop strategies aimed at finding practical solutions for users of products and services.
Lead the sales team, serving as a resource to further enhance sales and marketing skill sets. Provide a base for internal growth and development for those leaders who can flourish in a competitive market environment.
Take the lead in finding new business opportunities, accelerating company growth, and margin enhancement opportunities.
Develop nutritional expertise within the team to further enhance the company as a market leader.
Collaborate ideas and share species expertise within the team, by ensuring team members work together, sharing their expertise and experiences with the team.
Lead the individual goal-setting process.
Lead ongoing discussions on market conditions, potential market risk, market opportunities, and share best of the best results to enhance business opportunities.
Ensure team members and Technical Services Specialists develop new skills and industry experience, enhancing their personal development.
Be an effective mentor and coach, developing team members.
Utilize effective presentation skills.
Ability to critically evaluate team members on their established goals and objectives, providing regular feedback to enhance their business objectives.
Required Skills & Experience:
BS or MS in Animal Science, Agriculture, Economics, Business, Sales and Marketing, or related field. Qualified and proven experience in lieu of educational requirements
5+ years' experience in nutritional sales and people management
Past experience in leading a team by building collaboration, motivating, and tracking progress toward company goals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a team setting and one-on-one meetings.
Strong negotiating and decision-making skills
Technical and computer-related skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry software
Knowledge and experience in sourcing industry-specific information and the ability to share its meaning and importance.
Ability to spot potential opportunities and capitalize on those opportunities.
