Title: West Coast Regional Sales Manager

Location: Remote with up to 50% annual travel. Must reside in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, or North Dakota.

Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 base salary with 50% of base salary commission target.

Position Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for the development and implementation of a sales strategy, participation in the marketing plan, and achieving budgeted sales volume for company safety products within their defined geographical region. This must be done while maintaining the sales expense levels established by company management.


Responsibilities

Sales and Market Growth

The individual will be responsible to:

  • Achieve sales and any EBIT objectives for assigned safety products in all existing accounts and designated markets in the territory, while remaining within approved expense budgets.
  • Achieve market penetration targets aligned with organizational goals.
  • Maintain and grow distributor relationships to help achieve sales goals set by the company Sales and General Management.
  • Complete Management by Objective (MBO) goals as determined by company Sales Management.
  • Assist company’s Business Managers and Marketing Department in developing catalog and other advertising programs.
  • Effectively manage distributor partners and/or manufacturer representatives, including the establishment of goals and targets, and follow up to ensure progress and success.
  • Follow up on all designated sales opportunities and product leads within the territory.
  • Assist in proposal development and contract negotiations with customers, where appropriate.
  • Identify and recommend additional sales channels for company to evaluate for increased safety product distribution.
  • Participate in corporate support efforts as deemed necessary by company Management.

Business Strategy

The individual must be able to:

  • Develop and execute strategies for sales growth in targeted accounts.
  • Expand the company’s presence to meet market share goals.
  • Implement specific product strategies, including recommending new product introductions as identified and requested by management.
  • Evaluate and recommend adjustments to the distribution network to optimize the company’s market penetration.

Sales Skills

The individual must be entrepreneurial and assertive, and possess the experience, skills, and mindset required to help the company achieve its safety product market share objectives.


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience.
  • Preferred: Five (5) plus years of experience managing technical industrial product programs in a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to major product distribution channels related to safety products.


Requirements:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as designated by the General Manager.
  • Strong time management, planning, organizational, and execution skills.
  • Proven ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical products, including mechanical and electrical features.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven track record of ownership and accountability in job performance.
  • Proactive, collaborative team player with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with end users, contractors, distributors, coworkers, and management.
  • Mentorship skills and a willingness to support cross-training initiatives.
  • Strong practical judgment and the ability to follow instructions in various forms (written, oral, diagram).


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This position operates in a professional office setting and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and filing cabinets.
  • Requires prolonged periods working at a computer and performing repetitive keyboarding activities.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required with little or no advance notice.
