About this role The Manager, Competitive Sales Strategy will play a crucial role in surfacing actionable competitive intelligence, supporting sales in competitive situations, and partnering with various functions across the organization to enhance Gartner's go-to-market strategy. We are looking for an analytical problem solver who is intellectually curious and proficient in both Excel and PowerPoint.
What you’ll do
Interview internal sales associates to understand what leads to wins and losses in competitive sales situations.
Turn interviews into win stories that can be shared with sellers to boost confidence and share best practices.
Mine various data sources for competitive intelligence and synthesize those findings.
Produce a monthly competitive intelligence brief that is distributed broadly throughout Gartner.
Analyze competitor staffing data and identify trends and insights.
What you’ll need
At least 4 years of work experience in a related field.
Experience in Sales or a sales support role (e.g. Sales Operations)
A college degree with a preference for Business Administration, Marketing, or Economics degrees.
Experience facilitating interviews .
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint .
Strong communication skills
Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.
Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
1+ years' experience using Generative AI for research and/or competitive intelligence purposes.
While not a requirement, experience with web scraping and task automation with tools such as Python is a plus.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 84,000 USD - 116,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
