As our Finance/ERP SME Sales Engineer, you'll act as both trusted advisor and technical check — leading conversations with finance leaders, designing custom demos and solution flows, and collaborating across sales, product, and finance teams. We want a driven individual who can see through the eyes of our prospects, understand their existing infrastructure, and craft a compelling vision for seamless transformation. This role demands strong business acumen, mastery of SaaS order-to-cash processes, and the creativity to bridge technical and business conversations for diverse stakeholder audiences. Responsibilities
Lead product discovery calls with finance and revenue operations stakeholders (CFOs, controllers, FP&A)
Translate NetSuite and ERP/billing requirements into compelling demos using value‑first storytelling
Showcase our platform’s capabilities in quote-to-cash, revenue recognition (ASC 606), billing workflows, and reporting
Partner with AEs to pitch, qualify, and close enterprise deals
Gather customer insights to influence product roadmap and messaging
Train and mentor other SEs on finance-related functionality and demo design
Engage directly with enterprise prospects and customers to uncover organizational needs and pain points, especially around order-to-cash processes.
Design thoughtful, tailored solution architectures that elegantly integrate Nue with existing systems—including Salesforce, NetSuite, and legacy billing platforms.
Lead technical presentations and product demonstrations that bring the future-state value of Nue to life for stakeholders in sales, sales operations, finance, and IT.
Act as a trusted advisor, building credibility with all buying influences and addressing concerns specific to each function’s priorities and legacy systems.
Craft comprehensive responses to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires, showcasing clear written communication.
Partner closely with Nue account executives, solution architects, and product teams, providing constructive feedback to continually improve our offering and go-to-market approach.
Maintain a framework for understanding customer personalities, organizational structures, and how to balance conflicting priorities into a unified technical vision.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of NetSuite or ERP-based consulting, implementation, or technical sales engineering
Deep experience with quote-to-cash, order-to-billing, revenue recognition workflows
Demonstrated ability to engage CFO-level buyers and translate finance goals into outcomes
Comfortable building demos quickly and adapting on the fly Excellent communication – ability to simplify complexity and align cross-functional stakeholder
Technical fluency in SaaS integration, with hands-on experience connecting Salesforce, NetSuite, and legacy billing systems.
Deep familiarity with SaaS order-to-cash workflows, customer billing, revenue recognition, and operational hand-offs.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; adept at simplifying complexity for both business and technical stakeholders.
Experience working with or selling to sales ops, finance, and IT stakeholders; able to empathize with their priorities and perspectives.
Grit, creativity, and a love for engaging with customers—willing to go the extra mile to build trust and credibility.
Ability to think on your feet, adapt to conversations in real time, and confidently influence group dynamics.
Prior experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer, Solution Consultant, or similar customer-facing technical role; startup or high-growth SaaS experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Bonus Qualifications Experience with established CPQ and billing systems prior to Nue (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Zuora, Aria, custom ERP billing modules).
Knowledge of modern cloud architectures and API integrations.
Familiarity with regulatory and security aspects of SaaS billing and data flows.

Compensation The compensation band for this role is $130,000–$160,000 USD annually, plus commission, for candidates based in the United States, and $130,000-$150,000 CAD annually, plus commission, for candidates based in Canada. Final compensation will depend on skills, experience, and internal pay equity. Slight variation by location reflects market conditions.
