Overview Join to apply for the Sales Tax Accountant role at LCMC Health . The Sales Tax Accountant is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting, sales-tax, receivable or financial tasks and reporting. Assumes responsibility and accountability for managing system-wide sales and use tax calculation, submission and reconciliation. Responsibilities Prepares and files monthly, quarterly and annual (or as required) multistate sales and use tax returns. Involved in month end closing. Prepares amended returns or refunds for sales tax credits. Monitors changes in sales and use tax laws and regulations in all states and ensures business is in tax compliance. Responsible for sales and use tax audits including gathering documentation, analyzing data, researching tax law and contesting the assessment of the audit. Audits accounts payable invoices for use tax compliance. Responds to tax authorities on tax notices and inquiries. Reviews and understands new products and customers and determines sales tax exemption applicability. Reconciles tax accounts to general ledger. Maintains tax codes assigned within vendor item master files. Assists other departments with sales and use tax-related questions. Experience Qualifications 2 years of experience 2 years of sales & use tax preparation and review experience preferred.
