Director of Sales - Manufacturing / Commercial - is responsible for driving revenue in the commercial product segment. This includes developing and delivering sales presentations, building relationships with distributors and non-direct customers, and managing activity within structured sales segments and purchasing consortia. The role is also accountable for shaping and executing sales strategies, ensuring consistently upward results. Success requires a mix of strategic planning, focused implementation, and engaging leadership with both customers and internal teams. Forward-thinking link between external sales representatives and company leadership Design and conduct sales presentations directly for key and targeted accounts as well as final customer groups. Grow business with existing accounts while identifying and developing new customers. Keep the sales team informed and aligned on initiatives, product details, and performance objectives. Relay direct customer feedback and correspondence. Travel to customer meetings - potentially 30-50% - planned efficiently and adhering to company travel policies. Escalate orders, inquiries, and concerns to the corporate team. Learn and effectively share customer needs, buying tendencies, and decision processes with sales teams build strong relationships Participate in national and regional trade shows to support sales efforts. Serve as a senior sales leader to drive cohesion and alignment across the sales team. Stay current on emerging technologies, market trends, and sales best practices. Support company safety policies, quality standards, and compliance guidelines. Qualifications Bachelors in business, marketing, or a comparable field is desirable. 10+ years of commercial sales experience. Strong communication skills with the ability to build “sales convincing” proposals and lead discussions with buyers. Solid math proficiency for pricing, commissions, discounting, understanding measurement calculations Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficiency with Windows-based PC tools (Word, Excel, database management). Additional Information This position requires travel and active participation in client meetings, trade shows, and corporate events. Candidates must be able to work full-time with occasional extended hours based on business needs. The role does not directly supervise staff but works closely with sales representatives and senior leadership to align strategies.
